Colts QB Carson Wentz will play vs. Jaguars, regardless if wife goes into labor
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz won't miss a Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, even if it means missing the birth of his second daughter.
According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Wentz and his wife made the decision that he'd play the game, regardless if she goes into labor. And if the baby isn't born Sunday, doctors plan to induce labor Monday ensuring Wentz will be available for the Colts in Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills.
Wentz, 28, was traded to the Colts in March from the Philadelphia Eagles where he spent the first five seasons of his NFL career. Wentz threw three touchdowns and one interception in his first three games with the Colts as the team stumbled out to an 0-3 start. Indianapolis has bounced back with four wins in its last six games and Wentz has found his form with 14 touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 108.3 passer rating over that stretch.
Wentz received a four-year, $128 million extension from the Eagles in 2019 and is under contract with the Colts through the 2024 season.
