Here are the latest COVID-19 updates around the Kansas City metro area, and in Kansas and Missouri.What you need to know:The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said Wednesday the state has 461,163 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and there have been 6,673 deaths since the outbreak started. Kansas only updates its case totals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said Tuesday there have been 733,443 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the outbreak and 12,520 deaths. Overall, the state said 57.8% of the population has received at least one dose and 50.9% have completed vaccination. WEDNESDAY3:30 p.m. -- The city of Independence has issued a COVID-19 exposure warning connected with an arts and craft show last weekend.City officials said they were made aware Wednesday afternoon of at least two positive COVID-19 cases from people who attended the Best Little Arts and Crafts Show at the Sermon Center Nov. 19-20. The state reported there have been 6,760 positive cases over the last seven days and an average of 966 cases a day. The state said there have now been 12,417 (+73) deaths since the start of the outbreak. The state noted that deaths are often reported with a delay.

The state also reported there were 990 hospitalizations associated with COVID. Remaining hospital bed capacity is at 29%. Remaining ICU bed capacity is at 22%. The state says there are 246 patients in the ICU as of Nov. 13.

The overall seven-day positivity rate for the state is 8.6%, according to the MDHSS. The highest was 23.1% in November 2020.

4 p.m. -- The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is warning residents that the county is back in a "high" community risk category.

Health officials said there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks. The county's positivity rate now stands at 6.5%. READ MORE.

12:45 p.m. -- The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported Wednesday a statewide total of 449,813 (+2,019) COVID-19 cases since the outbreak started in the state's first update since Friday. In addition, the KDHE reported 6,614 (+0) total deaths since the start of the outbreak.

The state reported hospitalizations 15,306 (+51) since the start of the outbreak.

The state also said it has vaccinated 1,706,783 people with one dose, 3,339,929 total doses of the vaccine have been administered. The state reports 55.1% of the population has been vaccinated with one dose and 48.4% have completed vaccination.

Sedgwick County is the county with the most confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the outbreak with 83,930 cases. Johnson County is second with 80,155, Wyandotte County is third with 28,542 cases. Leavenworth County has 10,749 cases, Douglas County reports 12,529 and Miami County has 4,486.
