If Marvel's Hit-Monkey is never as thrillingly original as its title might suggest, vibrant animation and a solid voice cast keep things consistently watchable.

Richard H Good animation and writing. Not kid friendly Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/04/23 Full Review Ash Y Absolutely a great ride! Fun, emotional and engaging. Best of all, NO WOKE! Enjoy entertainment for what it's supposed to be Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/21/23 Full Review Cineasta Y que serie tan original y agresivamente entretenida ,una historia bien escrita, animación bien trabajada ,enserio este mono asesino logro ser la mejor serie de animación en marvel tal vez desde spectacular spiderman que impresionante serie con tan poco reconocimiento y muy infravalorada Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/24/23 Full Review martin f Hit-Monkey made a lot of efforts to be this out of place revenge story and still having some emotional weight. Does it succeed? Not really, it is a lot to take... the pace and the lore are all over the place but damn it is far to be boring! The final is such a ride, this show knows how to deliver entertainment. The jokes work well but they are mostly delivers by this annoying talkative clone of Archer, Bryce. He is a fun character that really helps to shape the show personality but he is taking non-stop and once you made the comparison with the funnier Archer is a little harder to like him. The art is something to get used to. Some characters feel like their come from two different cartoon and the animation is kind of stiff until it is (a few times) unsettlingly smooth. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review jimmy d Hit-Monkey is a refreshing break from the slew of failures presented by Marvel over the last few years. It's gritty, unapologetically incorrect, and vociferously crude, but not to a fault. Writing a dialogue largely consisting of literal monkey screeches while still maintaining cohesive, constructive conversations between the characters is a feat unto itself. Even more astounding is how well-developed Hit-Monkey himself is. Instead of creating him as a monkey trying to be a human, the writers actually integrated snow monkey behavior into his character, right down to the soaking in hot springs. The way his reputation spread is outstanding as well, making him a polarizing figure to the people of Tokyo: murderous vigilante to some, and folk hero to others, was perfect for Hit-Monkey. Going so far as to place graffiti of him throughout the city, in bathroom stalls no less, was a nice touch. Bryce's constant one-liners flow very well with the action scenes, and they don't get old either. Seeing him mature as a character was a fun ride. I think it's safe to say that today's audience is craving another season of Hit-Monkey. Steve Greene indieWire There are precious few points over its 10-episode season that don't feel cobbled together from other sources, wholly indebted to its influences, or making feeble attempts at catering its story to an angsty audience. Rated: C- Nov 18, 2021 Full Review Dan Fienberg Hollywood Reporter I would recommend either a change in setting or an expansion of the writing staff, beyond people hung up on flaccid quips and caricatures. Monkeys deserve better. The genre deserves smarter. Nov 16, 2021 Full Review Stephen Robinson AV Club The series is highly bingeable while also providing satisfying individual installments. Rated: A- Nov 12, 2021 Full Review Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community Hit-Monkey Season 1 is a no-holds-barred graphic shoot ’em up that delivers a copious amount of blood and violence. Rated: 7/10 Jan 23, 2023 Full Review Joseph Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast To its credit, like the initial comic book series, the show takes its tongue-in-cheek premise and plays it straight. Rated: 4/5 Jan 6, 2023 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media The adult-oriented animated series stands out for featuring a primate capable of navigating the Japanese Yakuza underworld and seeking payback for the acts committed against those around him.
