‘Dune’ Projected to Hit $100 Million Domestic Mark By Next Week

Dune is projected to increase its domestic gross to $93 million by Sunday and could potentially cross $100 million mark in the next week.

The Denis Villeneuve-helmed blockbuster is set to draw a $5.58 million haul in its fourth week of release. That’s only a 28% drop-off from its previous weekend. The film has legs, despite the fact that it has been available to stream on HBO Max since its first week of release.

As it stands, “Dune” has made over $300 million worldwide with a budget of $165 million (not counting marketing costs). Best Picture and Best Director Oscar nominations are practically a cinch for the sci-fi epic, which has been greenlit for a sequel set for release in 2023.
