Arizona State (6-3, 4-2) is coming off a 31-16 victory over USC, which snapped a two-game losing streak that had caused the Sun Devils to lose control of their own destiny in the Pac-12 South race.

Meanwhile Washington (4-5, 3-3) is coming off a 26-16 loss to its biggest North Division rival, Oregon.

They meet at 5 p.m. Saturday in Seattle.

1 second

Down by 5 with a second to play, Washington quarterback Dylan Morris' pass fell incomplete. The play ended the Huskies hopes of an unlikely comeback, which was set into motion less than a minute earlier when Arizona State scored to take a 35-24 lead.

Arizona State won th 35-30.

Washington not done yet

ASU took a 35-24 lead with 39 seconds to play, but Washington wasn't done.

The Huskies moved the ball 63 yards on three plays to make it a one-score game.

Washington was aided by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against the the Sun Devils. The Huskies attempted a two-point conversion, but failed. They trailed 35-30 with 3 seconds to play and successfully recovered an on-side kick with 1 second to play.

Robertson adds icing to the cake

Merlin Robertson intercepted a pass by Washington's Dylan Morris on fourth-and-1 to lock up a victory for Arizona State.

Robertson returned the ball 34 yards to give the Sun Devils a 35-24 lead with 39 seconds to play.

Minutes earlier, the Sun Devils were trailing 24-21. They took the lead with 1:11 to play. It was ASU first lead after trailing 14-0 early in the game.

Arizona State trailed by 14 points early, but overcame that to lead Washington 28-24 Saturday night.

Rachaad White scored the touchdown that gave the Sun Devils the lead with 1:11 to play.

ASU quarterback Jayden Daniels set up the touchdown with runs of 10 and 19 yards that moved his team up to the 10. White took it from there, scoring his second touchdown of the game.

On the drive, Arizona State needed to convert on fourth-and-1. The Sun Devils were on the Washington 47 with 2:30 to play and trailing 24-21. White got the 1 yard ASU needed.

The Sun Devils were 2-for-3 on fourth down attempts in the game. They were just 3-for-12 on third down.

White finished the game with 32 carries for 184 yards. Daniels had 15 carries for 56 yards, while completing 10 of 16 pass attempts for 90 yards and a touchdown. He did throw one interception.

ASU stays within a score

A 47-yard touchdown run by Arizona State running back Rachaad White was negated by a holding call, but that merely postponed the celebration.

The Sun Devils were set back and faced a third-and-16 from their own 44.

ASU picked up the first down with a pass from Jayden Daniels to White. It was the first third-down conversion of the game for the Sun Devils.

White followed the reception with a series of carries that moved the ball inside the Washington 30.  Daniyel Ngata shared some of the load as the Sun Devils continued to keep the ball on the ground until Daniels found White for a 9-yard gain.

On second-and-goal from the Huskies 4, Daniels slipped and spun his way into the end zone.

Following the point after, the Huskies lead was cut to 24-21 with 5:26 to play.

Huskies make ASU pay for INT

Washington wasted little time after intercepting the Jayden Daniels pass.

On the final play of the third quarter, Washington increased its lead to 24-14. The Huskies scored on a 1-yard run by Kamari Pleasant.

Washington has not beat a team with a winning record this year, but is just 15 minutes away from doing so.

Minutes after Washington quarterback Dylan Morris was nearly picked off by the Sun Devils, his ASU counterpart wasn't so fortunate.

Jayden Daniels' three-down pass was tipped and intercepted by the Huskies to quickly end a 1-yard, three-play drive.

During the Huskies possession it was Jack Jones who nearly snatched the ball for ASU. Washington punted to ASU on the next play. Rachaad White carried the ball twice for 9 yards because Daniels was intercepted.

Sun Devils capitalize

Arizona State prepared for its game at Washington by practicing with wet footballs.

That might have paid off in the third quarter when Washington fumbled and Tyler Johnson scooped the ball up for the Sun Devils and returned it 40 yards to the Huskies 9.

After a 2 yard carry by Jayden Daniels on first down, the quarterback handed it off to Rachaad White on second down. White found the end zone from 5 yards out. Cristian Zendejas added the point after.

Washington State leads 17-14 with 7:30 left in the third.

More of the same

Washington and Arizona State picked up pretty much where they left off in the first half.

Each team has punted as the rain continues to fall.

ASU received the second-half kickoff and picked up one first down on the drive that ended with a punt on fourth-and-20 from its own 28.

The Huskies did just about as well with their next possession. They picked up just 11 yards before being forced to punt.

The Sun Devils followed with a three-and-out which netted 0 yards.

Huskies tack on field goal

Washington did have much time to work with, but it made the most of it.

With the final 37 seconds of the first half, the Huskies began their possession at the ASU 46 after a kickoff return of 43 yards by Giles Jackson.

Washington picked up a first down and moved the ball to the ASU 19 before calling a timeout to attempt a field goal. Herm Edwards called a timeout in an attempt to freeze the Huskies kicker Peyton Henry. However, it was for naught as Henry's kick from 37 yards was good.

Washington takes a 17-7 lead into the second half.

ASU gets back in the game

Arizona State needed just 1 minutes 52 seconds to get itself game into the game.

The Sun Devils cut Washington's lead in half on a drive that highlighted the play of quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels completed passes to Curtis Hodges, Bryan Thompson, and Rachaad White on the drive. Daniels threw to Hodges for a 18-yard touchdown. Cristian Zendejas added the point after.

Daniels is 8-for-10 passing for 63 yards in the game.

Dylan Morris and Sam Huard are splitting quarterbacking duties for the Huskies. Morris is 8-for-10 for 88 yards and Huard is 3-for-5 for 20 yards.

Washington leads 14-7 with 46 seconds left in the half.

Trading punts

Since Washington's second touchdown, the teams have combined to punt the ball five times.

Neither team has been able to get much going. Arizona State had drives of 19 yards and 37 yards, while the Huskies have had drives of 3 yards, 7 yards, and 11 yards.

The numbers are a bit improvement for Arizona State, which allowed touchdowns on each of Washington's first two possessions.

Sun Devils come up short

Arizona State went for it on fourth down from the Washington 2 and came up short. Quarterback Jayden Daniels looked to pass, but the instead had to scramble and took a loss of two.

Washington took over on downs, but wasn't able to do anything with the possession. The Huskies punted from their own 11.

ASU trails 14-0 and begins its possession at its own 29 with 6:28 left in the second quarter.

Washington adds to lead

The Huskies got their second touchdown on their second possession. The 67-yard drive took just 3:43 and finished with a 3-yard run by Dylan Morris.

Morris competed passes to Rome Odunze, Cade Otton, and Cameron Davis. The Huskies were aided on the drive and given 15 yards and a first down when ASU was flagged for a face mask.

Washington leads 14-0 with 5:06 left in the first.

ASU was unable to do anything on its first possession of the game. The Sun Devils gained just three years on three plays before punting the ball away.

Huskies grab early lead

Cameron Davis ran 3 yards for a touchdown as Washington scored on its first possession of the game.

Arizona State kicked off and Giles Jackson returned the ball 40 yards for the Huskies. Dylan Davis, who is expected to share time at quarterback for the Huskies, was in command during the drive. His lone incompletion was on a play in which ASU was flagged for pass interference. The call came against Willie Harts who was starting in place of an injured Evan Fields.

Washington leads 7-0 with 10:49 left in the first.
