The Denver Broncos will welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to Empower Field for a key matchup in Week 10.

The Broncos and Eagles will meet for just the 14th time in their storied histories and this will be the final game for the Broncos against the NFC East this season. A win over the Eagles would make it a clean sweep of that division.

The Eagles lead the all-time series between these teams 8-5 and that 13-game history has featured some scoreboards being lit up but one side or the other.

In the team’s most recent meeting, the Eagles put a hurting on the Broncos with a 51-23 victory in Philly. The Broncos were in the way of a team gaining a lot of steam on that day and the Eagles would cap that season off by winning the Super Bowl.

Back in September 2013, the last time the Eagles came to Denver, they were coached by Chip Kelly, a college coach known for having teams putting a lot of points on the scoreboard. On that day, it was the Broncos doing the scoring, posting an incredible 52-20 victory behind four touchdown passes from Peyton Manning. Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker each caught two touchdown passes.

Those 52 points were the most (and still are) that the Broncos have ever scored in a single game.

But in the Eagles’ most recent trip to Denver prior to that, back in October 2005, the Broncos put up 49 points in that 28-point victory.

The Eagles visited the Broncos in October 1998 and in that game, the Broncos scored 41 points. There must be something about seeing those green jerseys that hype the Broncos up because in the Eagles’ last three trips to Denver, the Broncos are averaging 47.3 points per game.

These Broncos don’t score that many points though. The Broncos have not posted 40 points in a game since October 2018 in a 45-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

However, no one saw the Broncos dominating the Dallas Cowboys coming, so maybe they surprise us again?

The last time the Eagles won in Denver, Randall Cunningham was their QB

The home teams have dominated the short history between these two teams. The Eagles have beaten the Broncos six out of seven times in games played in Philly while the Broncos are 4-2 in games played in Denver, including winning the last three.

When was the last time the Eagles won in Denver? That would be October 29, 1989.

It was a very competitive game between the two teams, but the Eagles’ defense harrassed John Elway all day, forcing him to throw three interceptions while Eagles defensive end Clyde Simmons piled up 3.5 sacks in a 28-24 win.

Should recent events lead Broncos away from Aaron Rodgers?. dark. Next

The Broncos were able to keep their long winning streak versus the Dallas Cowboys alive last week, can they continue to hold onto their home winning streak against the Eagles on Sunday?

Prediction: Broncos 24, Eagles 20
