Syracuse football (5-5) struggled to get the offense going in a 41-3 defeat against Louisville (5-5).
The Orange were looking for their third win in a row, but the Cardinals dominated on both sides of the ball and went into half-time with a 35-3 lead.
SU quarterback Garrett Schrader threw for only 46 yards and connected on just 10 of his 18 passes.
The only bright side for Syracuse came from running back Sean Tucker, who continued his excellent season with 95 rushing yards on 19 attempts. With 1, 362 yards on the season he surpassed Walter Reyes for the second most rushing yards in a single season for the Orange. He only needs 11 more yards to break Joe Morris' record of 1, 372 single season rushing yards.
He’ll have two more opportunities to do it. Syracuse’s next game will be against 21st-ranked North Carolina, followed by 25th-ranked Pittsburgh. The Orange were hoping for win against the Cardinals to potentially qualify for a bowl game, but a win against either of these two ranked teams could be enough.
