Pitcher Jhoulys Chacin agrees to one-year deal with Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin on a one-year contract on Saturday.

The team did not release any financial details. He spent the 2021 season with the Rockies on a one-year, $1 million contract.

Chacin, 33, was 3-2 with a 4.34 ERA in 45 relief appearances and one start last season. He struck out 47 and walked 28 in 64 1/3 innings and gave up 31 earned runs.

He made his major-league debut in 2009 with the Rockies and spent the first six seasons of his career in Denver. Since then, he had stops with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels. San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox before returning to Colorado.

In hitter-friendly Coors Field, Chacin has a 26-25 career record and 4.12 ERA with 176 walks and 302 strikeouts in 92 games (64 starts).

Chacin has made 303 career appearances (227 starts) and has an 81-89 record with a 4.06 ERA in 1,358 1/3 innings.
