'College GameDay' signs roast Tennessee football

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

A few Ole Miss fans took advantage of “College GameDay” coming to Oxford, Mississippi, and made signs roasting Tennessee football. Ole Miss defeated Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, 31-26 back on Oct. 16.

Tennessee fans were upset when Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels stopped Tennessee on a controversial fourth down. After a lengthy video review, replay correctly ruled there was not enough video evidence to overturn the call.

Madness ensued. Tennessee fans threw whatever they had, including beer cans and water bottles. It took a while to clean the field and calm Tennessee fans, which caused a lengthy delay.

You would think that Tennessee fans would be used to losing tough games after going 25-31 in their last five seasons, but evidently that is not the case.

Here’s a look at the signs:

Two of the more interesting things Tennessee fans threw on the field were: a mustard bottle and a golf ball, which was aimed at Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.

Tennessee has banned a few dozen fans for throwing trash on the field during their defeat to Ole Miss. The Volunteers will hope to have a better environment for the Nov. 13 game against Georgia.
