The New York Knicks are off to a solid start in the 2021-22 NBA season. They are 7-5, as good of a start as they have had in years. Alas, there are some things that the team needs to clean up sooner than later to remain in the mix in the Eastern Conference.

New York’s offense has been one of the better units in the NBA in the early going. They have the fourth-best offensive rating in the NBA, but their defensive rating is just as poor, as they are 26th on that end of the floor.

Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier, the two players tasked with replacing Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock in the starting lineup, aren’t the strongest defenders. But, what they lack on that end of the court they make up for offensively.
