After months of arguing his case, which eventually led to him being traded away from the Buffalo Sabres, Jack Eichel has finally had surgery on the bulging disc in his neck, and it was the procedure he wanted to have, not the one the Sabres' doctors were recommending.

"The ADR (artificial disc replacement) surgery on Jack Eichel by Dr. Chad Prusmack has concluded. Early reports are everything went very well," said Sportsnet's Jeff Marek Friday afternoon on Twitter.

The procedure was performed in Denver. Eichel will remain there for a few days before returning to his new him in Las Vegas now that he is a member of the Golden Knights.

As has been well documented, Eichel wanted disc replacement surgery, something that had never been done on an NHL player before. The Sabres were insisting on disc fusion. Eichel has not played in the NHL since March 7th of this year when he was involved in a game against the New York Islanders. It will be a few months before he makes his debut for Vegas, although Eichel has stated he is hoping to be well enough to play at the Olympics in February for Team USA.
