Bethany Christian Services and Little Springs Farm break ground on indoor equine therapy facility

Bethany Christian Services of Central Pennsylvania, a nonprofit that is committed to changing the world through family, and Little Spring Farm, a recreational riding center offering equine therapy programs for children in foster care and who have been adopted from the foster care system, broke ground on a new indoor facility at Little Springs Farm in Mohnton Friday afternoon. The new facility will allow children to continue receiving equine therapy year-round.

“For six years, Bethany has partnered with Little Springs Farm through our foster care and post-adoption programs to provide trauma-focused equine therapy for children,” said Mark Unger, Regional Director at Bethany Christian Services.

“Equine therapy can be a transformative experience for a child who has experienced trauma, and we are thrilled that these services will soon be available for more children in the Central Pennsylvania, regardless of the weather.”

During the ceremony, graduates from the equine therapy program shared their stories on the impact the program made in their adoption journey. Representative Ryan Aument and Senator Scott Martin also provided remarks.

“I am proud to have an organization like Bethany Christian Services, which focuses on fostering a community through an emphasis on family and fellowship, partner with a local farm to create such a wonderful opportunity for families and youth in need,” said Aument.
