Now that many people have received their COVID-19 shots, some are out getting the booster.

But the question is, who is eligible and where can you get it?

"It's going to take all of us working together to get life back to normal," said Jenny Gadd, a social worker in Greensboro.

Gadd says she's seen all kinds of COVID outbreaks in her company.

That's why she got the booster shot.

"It saves lives and even if does give you a day or two of discomfort, that's nothing compared to being in the hospital on a ventilator or losing your life," Gadd said.

Right now, anyone ages 18 or older who originally received the Johnson & Johnson is eligible for a booster two months after receiving the shot.

It's six months if you received Pfizer or Moderna.

"We are not full with appointment slots and we are offering vaccines across Guilford, Alamance and Rockingham Counties, six days a week within the cone network you can get a vaccine," said David Thompson, Cone Health assistant director of infectious diseases.

Cone Health has already administered more than 5,000 boosters.

Forsyth County leaders say they don't have all the data for their boosters at this time.

"We are opening up the coliseum Saturday and Sunday and we are doing adults and pediatrics there and we have probably 250 to 500 doses available for adults," Thompson said.

If you go to the Walgreens website, you can see there are plenty of availabilities. Health officials say if you're eligible, now is the time to get it.

"When we first started this, it used to be the health department and Cone Health, but you can go to Walgreens, I've seen Harris Teeter, CVS, Publix, like everyone is giving vaccines these days," Thompson said.

"I'd rather get the booster than I would COVID," said Frederick Sharpless, another person who works in Greensboro.

But others told ABC 45 off camera, they aren't planning to get the booster shot, at least not right now.

Here are some other eligibility criteria.

The FDA and CDC have approved booster doses for the following populations six months or more after receiving the initial series of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines:

People ages 65 and older

People ages 18 and older who live in long-term care facilities

People ages 18 and older who have underlying medical conditions

People ages 18 and older who live or work in high-risk settings
