Russell Westbrook turns 33 on Friday, and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made sure to celebrate it while honoring his teammate, friend and brother.

On Instagram, LeBron showed his love for Russ with a rather heartwarming message accompanied with photos of them together–from their time as All-Stars, Team USA buddies to Lakers teammates.

“Happy Gday Brodie!!! Love. Laugh. Love. Then Laugh again!!! Love my brother!” LeBron wrote as caption while tagging Westbrook.

It's clear LeBron James and Russell Westbrook have a close relationship, which is also probably one of the reasons why the Lakers decided to trade for the All-Star guard during the offseason. His All-Star caliber talent and chemistry with Bron certainly bodes well in the team's title aspirations.

The Lakers have been up-and-down this 2021-22, starting off with a 7-5 record. While Westbrook has been spectacular in their last two games against the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat, his beginnings with his new team have been far from ideal.

Aside from being unable to do his usual production, he is having a hard time taking care of the ball at times as well.

Of course adjusting to a new team is different for everyone, and it's a lot harder in a team with other ball-dominant players and other stars. With that said, it sure looks like James is not concerned about it and appears confident they can figure it out sooner rather than later.
