Starbucks Is Saying Goodbye to Its Eggnog Latte This Year—But Here’s How to Order It from the Secret Menu

Updated: Nov. 15, 2021

We're bidding goodbye to this holiday favorite.

We’re getting ready to put the pumpkins away, there’s a nip in the air and we can almost hear the Christmas music playing—yep, the holidays are almost here. And right on time, Starbucks has dropped its holiday menu, so we can’t wait to sip on Peppermint Mochas and the brand-new winter drink. Unfortunately, it seems like Starbucks’ Eggnog Latte hasn’t made the cut this year.

Yep, the Starbucks Eggnog Latte Is Out

There’s no reason in particular, but we assume business decisions have led to Starbucks axing the Christmas favorite. The chain confirmed its exit in a tweet:

Following the exit of the Gingerbread Latte last year, this is breaking our holiday-cheered hearts just a little bit. But don’t worry, all isn’t lost yet. You can still get the Eggnog Latte—with some creativity.

How to Order It From the Secret Menu

Starbucks’ secret menu has a whole slew of drinks that you can’t find on the official roster, but did you know that there’s a whole winter drinks secret menu as well? And yep, you guessed it, one of the drinks on it is the Eggnog Latte.

To order it, ask for a Chai Tea Latte and add caramel syrup—one pump for a Tall, two for a Grande and three for a Venti—and top up the drink with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar topping. Prefer it iced even when it’s snowing outside? Order an Iced Chai Tea Latte with caramel (two pumps for a Tall, three for a Grande and four for a Venti) or a frozen version by ordering a Chai Tea Frappuccino also with caramel (use the same measurements as the iced drink). The best part? You can use this hack year-round to indulge your eggnog craving!
