Earlier this year, AD’s global digital director David Kaufman served on a design-idea jury for the Jewish National Fund-USA World Zionist Village. The winning design by New York City–based S. Wieder Architect drew its formal inspiration from an ancient stone olive press, adapting its lipped, round form into a wedgelike massing. At its center, the architects envisioned a tree-ringed reflecting pool and green plaza. Alongside the S. Wieder entry, Susana Merenfeld Weisleder and Adina Kaufman presented a triangular proposal, which won the People’s Choice Award. Congratulations to the winning designers.
