Michigan State University President Samuel L. Stanley announced in a letter Friday that the school will be installing more than 300 new security cameras on campus.
This comes after the October 29th disappearance of Grand Valley State University student, Brendan Santo. Police say Santo was last seen leaving Yakeley Hall on MSU's campus after visiting friends.
Stanley said he was told that the camera at the entrance of Yakeley Hall was not operational the night Brendan was last seen. "We are fixing that," said President Stanley.
Stanley said, the new cameras should arrive in about a week and crews will begin installing them immediately.
MSU police said last week that they do not suspect foul play in Brendan Santo's disappearance, and that they have received no other reports of missing persons. Police also said they do not believe Brendan intended to harm himself.
