Battlefield 2042 Now Available In Early Access For Pre-orders And EA Pro Subscribers
Game Pass subscribers can try the game for 10 hours.
Battlefield 2042's early access period kicked off today, letting players with Gold or Ultimate Edition pre-orders, as well as EA Play subscribers, get into the game a week before its formal launch next Friday, November 19. You can also play for 10 hours if you own Xbox Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate. EA Play subscribers receive the Fatal Friend Melee Takedown bonus item, with more perks being offered in the coming months.
All three modes of the game are available. There's the usual Battlefield experience, 128-player All-Out Warfare; battle-royale-esque Hazard Zone, where teams of four compete to extract data; and sandbox mode Battlefield Portal, which lets you create your own custom Battlefield experience.
Unfortunately, despite earlier hints and tacit promises, no aspect of BF2042 will be free-to-play. Considering how successfull Call of Duty: Warzone has been, that comes as a bit of a surprise, but it might not be out of the question for something to be added at a later time.
