Real Madrid Transfers: Ranking the 3 most likely major January exits

Real Madrid returns to action against Granada in La Liga on the 21st of November after the international break. The international friendlies are certainly monotonous for most fans who have to wait for another week to resume watching club football. While there’s no club football during the break, there’s always some sort of speculation in the media, mostly related to potential transfers in the January window.

There have been rumours circulating in the media over the future of three Real Madrid forwards: Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, and Luka Jovic.

Let’s have a look at each player’s current position in the team and whether or not there is even the slightest possibility of offloading either of three in the January transfer window. Let’s start this article off with Gareth Bale.

3. GARETH BALE

Gareth Bale started the season off on a brilliant note. He started the first three La Liga games against Deportivo Alaves, Levante, and Real Betis, respectively. He scored against Levante in the 3-3 draw and put in a solid shift against Betis in the tight 1-0 away victory.

Everything was pointing towards a redemption season for Gareth Bale under Carlo Ancelotti until he tore his hamstring. Nonetheless, the 32-year-old has recovered well and is in great shape according to Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey. I can only hope that Bale remains fit during the international break and returns in one-piece for club football.

According to Marca, Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager Antonio Conte, wants Gareth Bale to return to North London. Bale spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Spurs, where he contributed to 19 goals (16 goals and three assists). He also had the best goal per minuter ratio in the Premier League, with 11 goals in 920 minutes ( averaging a goal every 83.6 minutes in the league).

It’s quite obvious why Conte wants Bale back, but the Italian prefers having the 32-year-old return to the club in the summer when his contract expires.

While Real Madrid are open to the idea of cashing on Bale in January for a transfer fee, it seems highly unlikely that any interested club would be willing to pay a transfer fee while they could wait for another six months and sign him for free. On that note, I can confidently conclude that Gareth Bale will not be leaving Real Madrid in the winter nor would Ancelotti let him go.
