• Paulina Porizkova is a big fan of Sarah Jessica Parker’s natural approach to aging, she revealed in an emotional Instagram post.
  • Sarah Jessica Parker recently shared her take on aging, calling out the “misogynist chatter” on the topic—especially on social media.
  • “I see my lines and droops and silver roots mirrored, and I love it,” Porizkova, 56, wrote of Parker, also 56.

Women in Hollywood are done with unrealistic beauty standards—especially those concerning aging. Case in point: Paulina Porizkova, one of the most vocal advocates of aging without cosmetic interventions, just praised Sarah Jessica Parker for daring to show her gray hair and wrinkles on TV.

On Wednesday, Porizkova, 56, posted a photo of herself alongside one of Parker, also 56, on Instagram. “I’ve been seeing photos of Sarah Jessica Parker in the media, and every time I think, ‘Oh thank you, thank you!’” the supermodel wrote in the caption. “Someone who is my age who looks like me. I see my lines and droops and silver roots mirrored, and I love it.
Representation!”

“She makes me feel like I’m not a freak for aging,” Porizkova continued, “because fashionable, beautiful, stylish her is doing it, too. And she looks amazing.”

Parker, who will reprise her Sex and the City role as Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That... this December, has also been busy calling out ageist, sexist beauty standards this week. “I don’t know what to tell you people! Especially on social media. Everyone has something to say,” she told Vogue in a new profile.

“‘She has too many wrinkles, she doesn’t have enough wrinkles.’ It almost feels as if people don’t want us to be perfectly OK with where we are, as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today, whether we choose to age naturally and not look perfect, or whether you do something if that makes you feel better,” Parker continued. “There’s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man.”

“This is not to in any way slight those who chose different options,” Porizkova continued in her Instagram post. “My point is only that aging women have been nearly erased from the media, leaving those of us who want to, or try, or would at least try to embrace it, without much representation.”

Fans and friends alike have shared an outpouring of love in the comments. “Both gorgeous, more beautiful because of time, just like men and fine wine,” wrote fellow gray-haired stunner Andie MacDowell, 63. “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥” shared The Goldbergs actress Wendi McLendon-Covey, 52. “Both of you are beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️,” commented model Kathy Jacobs, 57.

“I see my lines and droops and silver roots mirrored, and I love it.”

“I often think of how lucky my generation (I'm mid-40s) is to have role models like you and SJP to help those of us who try to age gracefully. 👏👏,” one fan said. “I’m 59, just an average human woman, and it’s great to see people like you and Sarah being gorgeous, aging humans,” another wrote.

Porizkova and Parker are in good company among a new vanguard of women choosing to age naturally—the likes of which include MacDowell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gwyneth Paltrow, and many more—and we can’t wait to see who they inspire next.
