Major League Baseball revealed its nominees for the 2021 All-MLB team, and Marcus Stroman is particularly upset with one Mets snub.

A total of 16 relief pitchers were listed as nominees for the honor, and Aaron Loup isn’t one of them, a glaring absence that Stroman couldn’t let go unnoticed.

“I know these awards are trash since Aaron Loup isn’t anywhere to be found on the list,” Stroman tweeted on Thursday. “Go look up Loup’s numbers and please tell me how you would even consider to not put him on this list?! Wild!”

Loup’s 2021 numbers certainly present a strong argument that the lefty should have been included in the potential selections for the All-MLB squad. His 0.95 ERA led all relievers in the league, and his 0.94 WHIP was tied for 11th in the league. Loup is not a strikeout pitcher, fanning 57 batters in 56.2 innings, but he was unquestionably one of the most reliable relievers in the league in what was his debut season with the Mets.

Loup now heads into free agency, but he won’t have an All-MLB nod to add to his resume, much to the frustration of his 2021 teammate Stroman.
