NASCAR Cup Series champions are set to go 1/4-mile bullring racing
On November 18-20, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott will enter the gates at Placerville Speedway in California. The two NASCAR Cup Series champions will run in the USAC National Midget event.
Elliott will drive an entry owned by Kyle Larson. It will be Elliott’s first time at the 1/4-mile dirt track.
“It’s truly an exciting thing for everyone involved to have Chase Elliott compete at the Hangtown 100,” said Placerville Speedway Promoter Scott Russell in a track release.
He added, “We are thrilled that Chase has decided to run the event along with his teammate Kyle Larson. Having the last two NASCAR Cup Series champions in action at the Hangtown 100 is unprecedented. We hope everyone has their tickets and will come enjoy three nights of spectacular USAC National Midget racing with us.”
Larson enters the event as the defending winner. He pocketed the $20,000 win in the previous event back in 2019.
The three-day show will feature three separate feature races for the USAC division. Thursday and Friday night main event’s will pay $5,000 to win each. Saturday’s feature race will pay $20,000-to-win.
Additionally, there’s a $12,000 bonus on the line for the highest point earner from the three nights combined. A total purse of over $150,000 is up from grabs.
