‘They never stop serving’ CampV pays tribute to veterans

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - This Veterans Day, CampV is paying tribute to the Centennial of Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in memory of all deceased U.S. service members whose remains have not been identified.

The ceremony included 21 Gun Salute by Jacksonville Marine Corps League #1318, the playing of “Taps” by Kevin Pierce, Brook Hill Lower School, and a white rose bouquet presented by Texas State Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution blessed by the Reverend David Luckenbach of Christ Church Episcopal.

Joanna Regan, a regent with the Mary Tyler Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution said the ceremony was performed across the nation.

“It’s the most significant feeling. It’s just wonderful to know, you’re a part of something that you can serve that’s bigger than yourselves.”

“They never stop serving,” CampV co-founder Susan Campbell said as they closed the ceremony.

CampV’s mission is “To integrate military and civilian resources through one central location providing efficient and effective support and fellowship for veterans, active duty, reserves, guards and their families.”

Tylerite and veteran Reginald Reagan Connor, Jr. spent Veterans Day at CampV.

“I grew up not only expecting to serve, but wanting to serve in the military.”

He represents a family of veterans, starting with his fourth great grandfather who fought in two revolutionary wars.

“I have been a patriot for 86 years,” Connor said.
