Orlando man, another passenger killed in I-95 crash in Brevard County

Two passengers were killed and the driver seriously hurt when he veered off Interstate 95 and hit a tree in Brevard County on Thursday morning , according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, a 23-year-old Orlando man, was speeding north in a Dodge Charger at about 1:35 a.m., said the FHP’s Lt. Kim Montes.

For an unknown reason, the Charger left the roadway and traveled onto, the shoulder where it hit a tree.

No one was wearing a seatbelt, according to a FHP report.

Both passengers — a 23-year-old Orlando man and another male — were pronounced dead at the scene, Montes said.

The driver was sent to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in a serious condition, Montes said.

The crash is under investigation.
