The Kansas City Chiefs are one of several teams that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is interested in joining after he cleared waivers earlier this week. Of course, quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked if he has tried to recruit OBJ to join forces with him. Via Adam Teicher:
Patrick Mahomes said he hasn't been involved in recruiting Odell Beckham. "They haven't reached out to me to do anything like that."

The Chiefs have reportedly been in contact with the veteran wideout, but the likes of the Saints and Packers are also in the conversation. Kansas City apparently hasn't asked Mahomes to reach out and head coach Andy Reid also said they're leaving that side of things to Chiefs GM Brett Veach:
Andy Reid on the Chiefs interest in Odell Beckham: "That's Veach's area . . . I know he looks at everybody."

Adding Beckham Jr to the fold in Kansas City could be intriguing. Their offense hasn't been as dominant as in past years, with Mahomes struggling to find his previous brilliance. The Chiefs did sign Josh Gordon to give them more depth out wide, but he's barely had a role so far. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill have been the main targets for Mahomes.
However, OBJ was once one of the best in the game at his position before a disappointing stint with the Browns. A change of scenery may help the former LSU standout thrive once again. It remains to be seen if the Chiefs will be the team to pull the trigger and sign the 29-year-old, but another target for their star QB could be a good thing.
