While I am not knocking meteorologists, even animals and signs from nature can provide limited clues about Connecticut's upcoming winter. When there was no such thing as a meteorologist, farmers really had no way to predict when snow or rain would fall.

That's not entirely true because there are certain animal behaviors and signs from nature that indicate winter is coming, and sometimes can serve as indicators of how severe the winter season will be.

Pastelok breaks down his predictions by region since it is nearly impossible to pinpoint a long-term forecast for specific towns and cities. "Northeast Region" refers to the Danbury Connecticut area. Pastelok states:

Areas closer to the coast, such as Boston, New York City and the rest of the Interstate-95 corridor, could also get the chance of early-season cold and snow, but it is not predicted to be as cold or as snowy as across areas farther inland.

In addition, the meteorologist said that January will be hard-hit by bitter cold and snowstorms that could cause widespread disruptions. At the tail end of the winter season in 2022, the polar vortex has a good chance of appearing, which will increase the risk of nor'easters.

If you've been kicking around the idea of renting a condo in Florida for a month or two, you might want to act on that soon for the months of January and/or February.

13 Dead Giveaways That You're Not From the Danbury Area

There is no great way to do this without laying out the boundaries. For the purposes of getting eyeballs on it, I said "Danbury Area" but we all know that this extends beyond. This is an odd place, and we all have a lot in common that we don't talk about because it's pointless to.

So, this list is for Danbury, Brookfield, Bethel, Ridgefield, Newtown, New Milford, New Fairfield, Brewster, Mahopac, Carmel, Somers and I guess we will include North Salem but only if you promise not to get cute with me.

Being from the Greater Danbury Area means a lot of things and we can all identify them without having to ask too many questions or probe too deep. We can spot an outsider from a mile away. If you are attempting to blend, good luck and beware of the following.

These are 13 Dead Giveaways That You're Not From the Greater-Danbury Area.
