Wendy Williams Updates Her Fans On Her Recovery

"HOW YOU DOIN’? I MISS YOU ALL!," she wrote in an Instagram caption.

Wendy Williams is updating her fans about her ongoing health status after not returning to her hosting duties of her daytime talk show at the start of Season 13 last month.

On Monday (Nov. 8), Williams shared in an Instagram post that she felt ready to head back to her show and resume hosting as soon as "the doctors give her the green light." Her return to The Wendy Williams Show was delayed due to health-related reasons, including a positive breakthrough case of COVID-19.

"HOW YOU DOIN’? I MISS YOU ALL! As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic," Williams' statement read. "I’m making progress, but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected."

She continued, "I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready. I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there."

The 57-year-old also took a moment to thank the show's production company, Debmar-Mercury, local affiliates of the show, and her fans, for their continued understanding and support.

"I have heard your prayers and comments and feel all the love!" Williams wrote, before adding that she's "doing everything... to get back to work."

"But right now Wendy has to focus on Wendy. I love you for watching," she adds.

Guest hosts have filled her purple chair in the interim, including Sherri Shepherd, Leah Remini, Michael Rapaport, and Jerry Springer.
