Ohmme is an experimental indie rock duo from Chicago, signed to Indianapolis record label Joyful Noise Recordings. The band’s latest album “Fantasize Your Ghost” is its second full length recording with Joyful Noise. The band stopped at WFYI for a session on its way to play a show at Indianapolis venue, Healer.

The band is a favorite of NPR's Tiny Desk producer, Bob Boilen, and played the series in 2019. Boilen names the concert as one of his all time favorite Tiny Desk performances. Musicians Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart of Ohmme work with big names, like Chance the Rapper and Wilco.

WFYI's Melissa Davis interviewed them for their reflections on growing up in Chicago and that scene's influence on their work. Guitarist and vocalist Sima Cunningham starts the conversation with how they met in high school.
