Just like Kiley McDaniel did for ESPN today, MLB Trade Rumors put together their list of the top 50 free agents this offseason with projections. However, unlike McDaniel, MLB Trade Rumors also had Jorge Soler among their top 50 free agents, coming in at #25.

Beginning with Freeman, MLB Trade Rumors projects the Braves first baseman to sign a six-year, $180 million contract. Two of the three writers had him staying with the Braves, with one predicting him to sign with the Red Sox. Six years seems to be the popular pick as far as the length of Freeman’s next contract goes. McDaniel also had Freeman signing a six-year deal, but for $156 million. I agree with the length of the deal but have a feeling MLB Trade Rumors is closer to the actual figure Freeman will sign.

MLB Trade Rumors has Soler picking up a three-year deal this offseason worth $36 million, and they don’t see him returning to Atlanta. All three writers had him heading elsewhere in free agency, and if their contract projection is accurate, I have to agree with them. Even with the DH coming to the National League, I don’t see the Braves handing Soler a three-year contract at $12 million a year. For his World Series heroics, he will always be a legend in Atlanta, but the Braves will be letting him walk at that price point.

Rosario was the final Brave on the list at #41. Two of the three writers had him returning to Atlanta, and their contract projection was $15 million over two years. In comparison, Kiley McDaniel projected Rosario to earn $10 million over one season. At either rate, I imagine the Braves will be interested, especially if Soler walks.
