Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor Kids: Meet Their Children

Actors Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are the proud parents of their two children, daughter Ella and son Quinlin.

The Zoolander stars wed on May 13, 2000, on the shores of Kauai, Hawaii. They welcomed their daughter in April 2002 in Los Angeles followed by their son in July 2005.

Their kids dipped their toes in the entertainment industry when they were very young in 2010’s Megamind. Their son also made small appearances in 2008’s Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Night at the Museum in 2014.

While Quinlin is still a teen, college-aged Ella plans on following in her A-list parents’ footsteps with a career in show business. Of course, there’s no denying she has the chops considering her late grandparents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, are also comedy icons.

Ben opened up about his thoughts on Ella’s choice to pursue a job in entertainment during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“I am happy because she loves it, and she’s very passionate about it and she knows what she wants to do,” the Along Came Polly star said. “I knew when I was 10, 11 years old that I wanted to direct movies and eventually act, too. But it’s a crazy business, as you know, so I just want to support her in it in any way possible — legally.”

Ben and Christine announced their separation in May 2017, less than a year after the Meet the Parents actor revealed he had secretly battled prostate cancer.

However, the couple never finalized their divorce. In 2019, a source told Closer Weekly Ben and Christine had given “their marriage another shot” after they have remained extremely chummy over the years.

“He never got over her after the split nor was he interested in starting a relationship with anyone else whilst they were separated,” the source said at the time.

Both stars have brushed off questions about their relationship status over the years, but Christine confirmed how close she and Ben are during a charity event in October 2018.

“We’re a big family. We’re together all the time,” the Brady Bunch Movie actress told Us Weekly as she avoided answering questions about her husband.

In a February 2022 interview with Esquire, Ben revealed that he and his wife rekindled their romance.

“We were separated and got back together and we’re happy about that,” he said. “It’s been really wonderful for all of us. Unexpected, and one of the things that came out of the pandemic.”

It turns out, Ella’s passion for acting started at a young age. Ben recalled her appearing in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow while in the fourth grade, and how supportive Jerry was of his granddaughter.
“I said, ‘Dad, what’d you think?’ And he said, ‘I didn’t care for it, I didn’t care for it,'” Ben said during an interview with Jimmy Fallon. “I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ He goes, ‘Ella was amazing. Ella had the commitment, and she was shining up there, but I didn’t feel the rest of the kids were up to it. And he wasn’t kidding!”
It is unclear if Ella attends a university, but Ben previously told Ellen DeGeneres that she was likely to attend some sort of acting school. However, she’s already started building her resume and has appeared in Hubie Halloween, Fork Knife and Chainsaw and Escape at Dannemora.
In September 2022, Ella accompanied her dad to the Emmy Awards. The longtime actor received a nod for directing the Apple TV+ series Severance. He looked happier than ever walking the red carpet with his eldest child. Just one month prior, he shared that both of his kids are big fans of the science fiction series.
“My kids were sort of the first test screening for me in terms of when I was editing episodes,” he told People in August 2022. “I would show them and they started to get into it … I showed them at different times, but it was fun to have them as kind of a focus group to see what they reacted to.”

Ben and Christine’s youngest child is growing up to look more like his famous father every day. Considering he’s just a teen, time will tell if he decides to also pursue a career in entertainment. He already has a bit of experience and first appeared in Madagascar 2 when he was just a toddler.
“He got in there, and he got in front of the microphone, and there was like a run of like a minute where he just had fun and he was making sounds, and we were saying, ‘Oh, be happy, happy and sad,’” Ben recalled to Chicago Parent about Quinlin, who was just 3 at the time, doing voice work for the film. “And then he started to get a little bit intimidated by the microphone and the whole thing. And then that’s when you start to feel, like, this horrible stage parent saying, ‘Laugh, cry, cry.’”
The actor continued, “It’s interesting because you realize that if your kids aren’t that comfortable with that situation you don’t wanna force them to do it. I was happy that they weren’t getting up there and going all Shirley Temple or something.”
