InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank Review: Charge Up to Three Devices Simultaneously

My new iPhone finally arrived, and all the reviews are correct; Apple found a way to improve battery life significantly. At the same time, better battery life doesn’t mean heavy users like me won’t still want to carry an external battery. The InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank ticks all of my boxes; it’s powerful and packed with features.

You get the battery, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and some paperwork inside the box.

The battery is made from the same soft-touch material as the InfinityLab InstantCharger 65W I reviewed recently. Like the InstantCharger, 90% of the InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank’s housing is made from recycled plastics. The number 10,000 is embossed on the top surface, and a colorful strip along the side has the InfinityLab name and logo.

The bottom has the same soft-touch material and a series of dimples that make it easy to hold and, I suspect, help dissipate a bit of heat by creating more surface area on the bottom.

Along one of the short ends, you’ll find all the connection ports, control, and charge indicators. There is a USB-A port, a USB-C port, a four LED charge indicator light and a power button.

One of the long sides of the battery has a thin indicator that illuminates when the battery is on.

The InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank measures 5.7 x 3 x 0.75″ and weighs just over half a pound. It’s not the smallest or lightest battery, but the large capacity and various methods for charging devices are worth the extra size and weight.

The USB-A port supports up to 15W charging. The USB-C port is, as you might expect, more powerful. It can be used to charge the battery, and it can be used to charge your phone, tablet, or laptop. It also supports smart pass-through charging so that you can charge the battery and a device simultaneously; you’ll have to provide your own wall adapter.

According to InfinityLab, a fully-charged battery will recharge an iPhone at least twice. The USB-C port is also capable of delivering up to 30W of power so long as you use a cable capable of handling it.

But there’s more.

The Power Delivery 3.0 built into the USB-C port is capable of providing incredibly fast charging speeds. For example, it can charge an iPhone 12 up to 50% in just 30 minutes, while a Samsung Galaxy S21 takes just 40 minutes. It can even charge a MacBook Air! I love the fact that a single battery can now recharge my iPhone, my iPad, or even my M1 MacBook Air. That’s pretty great.

But the InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank has another trick up its sleeve. The surface of the battery is also a Qi wireless charger; it provides up to 10W of power. That means it isn’t the fastest wireless charger you can find but it will certainly get the job done.

There are a few areas of note when considering the InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank:

First, it only includes one cable. You’ll need to provide additional cables, but even without them, you’ll still be able to use the Qi wireless charging to keep your phone or Q1-enabled wireless headphones going.

Second, when three devices are charging simultaneously, the total output from the battery will max out at 30W. In other words, if you are in a rush, you will be better off charging one device at a time.

Finally, you will have to provide your own wall charger. Fortunately, InfinityLab has you covered there too!

The InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank is an ideal external battery for 2021. It has a current USB-C port, but it also has a legacy USB-A port, so you can also use that type of cable. It has a large enough capacity to recharge an iPhone at least twice and can even keep laptops like my M1 MacBook Air going. It also has Qi wireless charging so you can plug the battery into a wall outlet to recharge while also wirelessly topping off your phone or AirPods.

I like that the InfinityLab InstantGo 10000 Wireless Power Bank is small and light enough that you can toss it in your gear bag and carry it everywhere without loading yourself down too much. At under $80, it is a well-designed and practical way to have one external battery that can do it all. In a sense, it is the Swiss Army knife of external batteries.

If you got a new phone, you’ll want one of these, and if you are looking for an unexpected gift that is sure to be well-received, this is worth a look.
