It's been a wild week for the Cleveland Browns. With the discerning news of Odell Beckham Jr.'s disapproval with the organization, things were looking bleak for the franchise. Fortunately for them, the team rallied behind Baker Mayfield and beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

During the postgame press conference, Mayfield was asked about Beckham. According to Tom Withers, the Browns starting quarterback provided a four-word answer that summed his opinion on his former teammate perfectly.

“I wish him well.”

It's short. It's sweet. It's simple. Although the two have yet to speak to each other since the debacle at the NFL trade deadline, it seems Mayfield is taking the higher ground. The Browns don't need outside distractions right now, as the team has struggled throughout the season.

Mayfield likely would prefer Beckham to be on the field with him, but the star QB is well aware that will never happen again (in Cleveland at least). The Browns are moving on, and so will OBJ whenever he signs onto a new team.

This win over the Bengals was massive for the Browns. Cincinnati has been a surprise team this year and had a lead in the AFC North. With the Browns entering Week 9 in dead last in their division, a win over the Bengals was necessary to keep their season alive.

With Beckham no longer on the roster, the Browns will be able to focus more on the task at hand. The team seems close and unbothered by the drama that ensued from OBJ. The AFC North is a tight race and Cleveland aims to continue winning to find their way back into the NFL Playoffs.
