UNC Football: Wake Forest Game Thread

There are a lot of weird things about today’s UNC football game. First off, it’s the old Wake-Forest-is-in-the-ACC-but-this-isn’t-an-ACC-game thing that is always super confusing. Then there is the overwhelming likelihood that this is going to be a shootout of untold proportions. Can the Heels on the field today score more than the guys did on the court last night? I mean…maybe?

Wake Forest comes to Chapel Hill undefeated and ranked in the top 10. Has that largely been built on the back of a relatively soft schedule? Yes. Does Carolina have what it takes to hand them their first loss of the season? Probably, but only if they play like the UNC we’ve only seen glimpses of so far in 2021.

If you’re a fan of points then today’s game is going to be for you. Hope you bet the over and all of that. It should be fun to watch, that’s for sure, but UNC’s schedule ahead is unforgiving and grabbing a W here would be really helpful. It may literally come down to which team’s defense can get a stop at a crucial time. Here’s hoping it’s ours.
