Drivers killed, children hurt, in head-on crash on Normandy Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A head-on crash Friday night killed two drivers and seriously injured two children.

Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on Normandy Boulevard near Bicentennial Drive.

In the crash report, a 34-year-old local woman was driving with two children westbound on Normandy when she crossed into the eastbound lanes trying to avoid a dead deer in the road.

The woman collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by a 60-year-old Jacksonville man. Both were killed.

FHP said the two children suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
