Walman produced an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Sharks.

Walman set up James Neal's game-winning goal at 11:42 of the second period. The 25-year-old Walman hasn't been known for his offense in his limited NHL experience. He has two assists, 13 shots on net, nine hits and nine blocked shots through nine games while working in a bottom-pairing role this year. His place in the lineup seems secure for now, while Robert Bortuzzo and Niko Mikkola have competed to be the sixth defenseman playing alongside Walman.
