Selah Brown Commits To Louisville Football

Louisville lands a local 4-star for the first time since 2013.

The last time Lousiville landed a composite 4-star recruit from the city of Louisville was James Quick in 2013. That terrible streak has ended with Selah Brown choosing to stay home and play for the Cards. The 6-2/260 Lousiville Male star announced his commitment to play Defensive Line for the Cards today and he becomes the second 4-star prospect in the 2022 class. Brown chose Louisville over Illinois and Northwestern. He also holds offers from Tennesse, Kentucky, Purdue, Stanford, Mizzou, Boston College, and Virginia Tech.

Brown will be a much-needed dynamic addition to a Defensive Line that desperately needs playmakers. Brown can play every spot on the line and he has a frame that should be able to add plenty of weight. He is also a great fit for the defense as he has great burst and plays with a fantastic motor. Personally, I really like his ability to use his hands. He extends well and utilizes his strength to control blockers before he sheds blocks.

Louisville has also focused on recruiting players who show good athleticism and Brown has that in bunches. He started off his career as a Running Back and he is also a solid contributor for Male’s basketball team. His athleticism will help him as a pass rusher and will likely help him stay on the field for all three downs. Brown has the intangibles that Louisville wants from a fit standpoint but he also has the level of talent that they have been missing on the Defensive Line.

UofL needed some positive news for the football program and they are now starting the weekend of the Clemson game with major recruiting news. Louisville will also have a substantial number of highly-rated recruits on-site for the game and could get some momentum going on the recruiting front.
