An 8-foot wall of junk has been concerning neighbors in a Los Angeles Koreatown neighborhood for over a decade.

Residents along Harvard Boulevard have filed complaints with the city for several years to no avail.

“Every time I had a complaint somebody would come, they would take a picture and that’s it,” Leticia Ruiz told CBS LA. “They would just write a letter…and nothing (would) happen."

The wall of junk has countless items like old doors, lamps, and laundry baskets. According to the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety records, the home has been cited for code violations by the city multiple times since 2010.

Recently, the City Attorney's office revealed that the homeowner signed a "Right of Entry" which allows crews to clean up the junk for no cost. The cleaning was set to take place on Thursday, November 4, at 8:00 A.M.

“I’m so happy,” said Ruiz. “Everyone is so happy.”

While the homeowner could not be reached for an interview, a family friend told CBS LA a 90-year-old woman lives in the home with her son who has been hoarding for years.

Family and friends were concerned for the woman's well-being because she struggles to move around and has fallen several times.

On Tuesday, November 2, firefighters, medics, and other officials visited the home to ensure her safety. It was then that the woman signed the agreement for the city to clean the property.
