The 2021 girls’ swimming & diving season will conclude this weekend with the state championships in Gillette.

The Campbell County Aquatics Center will play host to the Wyoming High School Girls Swimming and Diving State Championships.

The Class 3A Championships are on Thursday and Friday, followed by the Class 4A Championships on Friday and Saturday.

CLASS 3A:

Teams Participating = Buffalo, Cody, Douglas, Green River, Kemmerer, Lander, Lyman, Newcastle, Powell, Rawlins, Riverton, Sublette County, Worland

Defending Champ = Green River (seeking a 2nd consecutive title) – won by 89 points in 2020

Returning/Defending Event Champs = 200 medley relay – Green River; 200 freestyle – Tara Joyce, Cody; 200 individual medley – Makenna Lambert, Buffalo; 100 freestyle – Makenna Lambert, Buffalo; 500 freestyle – Tara Joyce, Cody; 200 free relay – Buffalo; 100 breaststroke – Hailey Uhrig, Green River; 400 free relay – Cody

There will be a new champion in the other four events.

Schedule =

Thursday: Diving Prelims & Semis, 1:30 p.m.; Swim Prelims, approx. 3:30 p.m.

Friday: All Event Finals, 9:30 a.m.

CLASS 4A:

Teams Participating = Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Evanston, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Thunder Basin

Defending Champ = Laramie (seeking a 5th straight title) – won by 119.50 points in 2020

Returning/Defending Event Champs = 200 medley relay – Campbell County; 200 freestyle – Berkeley Christensen, Campbell County; 200 individual medley – Abi Robinson-Kim, Rock Springs; 100 butterfly – Anna Roesler, Laramie; 500 freestyle – Ashlyn Mathes, Laramie; 200 free relay – Laramie; 100 backstroke – Allison Granat, Campbell County; 100 Breaststroke – Skye Rehard, Campbell County;  400 free relay – Laramie

There will be a new champion in the other three events.

Friday: Diving Prelims & Semis, 3:30 p.m.; Swim Prelims, approx. 6 p.m.

Saturday: All Event Finals, 10 a.m.
