Hello there, remember a few weeks ago when fans were speculating that Ross Butler and Madelyn Cline might be dating amid rumors that she'd broken up with Outer Banks star Chase Stokes? Kay, so about that. While Ross told TMZ that he and Madelyn were "just friends" after they were spotted dancing together in Milan, he just left a pretty flirty comment on her Instagram which has set off a new wave of dating speculation.
Ross and Madelyn haven't commented on or acknowledged rumors about their relationship status, which makes sense since Madelyn hasn't even confirmed news that she and Chase actually broke up yet. That said, multiple outlets did confirm the former couples' split, with one source telling People "They are definitely broken up. Madelyn and Chase are no longer together. They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago."
Meanwhile, E! News just reported that Madelyn and Chase "have been done for a while" and that Madelyn "has been over [the breakup] for a long time and talking to other people casually." The source also said she's "just kind of living her single girl moment."
As a reminder, Madelyn and Chase met while filming the first season of Outer Banks, went official in Summer 2020, and dated throughout filming the second season. News of their breakup comes about six months after they celebrated their one year anniversary back in April.
