Have you ever sat down and thought, “Hmm, what is Cardi B buying lately?” Well, wonder no more because on Tuesday (Nov. 2) the rapper shared a picture of her empty New York mansion on Instagram along with details about how and why the big purchase happened.

The 29-year-old rapper and mother of two — who was just announced as the host of the 2021 American Music Awards — is pictured with her hands above her head in-between two grand staircases with the caption reading: “These days I don’t just live one place, I’m everywhere due to my work. One thing for sure I needed a home in my home city of NY! I’m soo proud of myself. I work so hard for my children to be comfortable everywhere they are regardless of work.”
This is Cardi and husband Offset’s third property in the U.S., including one in Atlanta and one in Los Angeles.
For Cardi’s 29th birthday last month, Offset (one-third of Migos as well as a solo artist) purchased his wife international properties for them to add to their real estate lineup.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper shared a virtual tour of the tropical digs on Instagram saying, “For a hot minute now I’ve been telling Set that I really want to invest in short term home rental properties in the DR and other Caribbean countries (since people vacation all year around in those locations), but I felt like he didn’t agree with me and would rather put money into other investments.”
She continued. “Well, I was wrong. I just can’t believe this! This was sooo amazing to me. For one, I’m so happy that you were actually really listening to me and not just smiling and nodding your head so I could stop talkin to you about it.”
Cardi also added that she was more than happy that her husband made the big investment on her behalf and did so through the help of her father.
Cardi and Offset, who wed in September 2017, are no strangers to showering friends and family with major gifts. For their daughter’s birthday this year, Cardi gifted three-year-old Kulture a pastel yellow Birkin bag, covered in rainbow Swarovski crystals.
On Sunday, Nov. 21, Cardi B will host the 2021 AMAs. The five-time AMA winner is up for three awards at this year’s American Music Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
