Among NHL rookies, the 20-year-old ranks first in assists and second in points to teammate Lucas Raymond. He's second in assists to only five-time All-Star Victor Hedman among all NHL defenseman. Not a bad start for the former sixth overall pick.

In fact, Seider is the first Red Wings rookie with eight assists in a calendar month since Pavel Datsyuk recorded eight assists in 13 games in January of 2002.

Lidstrom had 23 assists over 26 games in November and December of 1991. By his 26th game in 2021, Seider is on pace for ... 23 assists.

He's the first Rookie of the Month for Detroit since Dylan Larkin in November of 2015. Larkin had seven goals and 10 points in 13 games.
