(WWJ) -- As the air is getting crisp and winter coats are being dragged out of storage, Michiganders are bracing for the brutal months ahead.
If you’re curious about how cruel it’s going to get, Sandy Duncan, managing editor of the Farmers' Almanac, said they’re dubbing these upcoming months as the “frosty flip-flop winter” of 2021-22.
Duncan said the weather will be a “tease,” varying month-to-month and alternating between colder and milder days.
It will be cold, says Duncan, just not as cold as it was last year.

“One month it won’t be so cold and snowy, but then next month it will,” said Duncan.
As the Farmers' Almanac previously predicted, November was expected to continue with cold temperatures, and rain on Thanksgiving -- which ended up being spot-on.
So what should we anticipate weather-wise for the rest of winter in Michigan?
Christmas is expected to be brutally cold, but it should warm up for New Year's; and temps in January are expected to be mild but stormy by the end of the month.
As for the end of the season, Duncan said that unfortunately in March -- when we’re all ready to say goodbye to winter -- we’ll see a pretty big snow storm welcoming in spring.
