Final Fantasy IX (FF9) will be coming to PlayStation Now this week, becoming the latest Final Fantasy title to debut on the cloud gaming subscription service. Fans of the iconic RPG series will soon get to play out another exciting chapter in the FF adventure, reliving the tale through their PS consoles. Here's the release date for FF9 on PS Now.

Final Fantasy IX Release Date on PlayStation Now: November 2, 2021

FF9‘s much-awaited release date is on November 2, 2021. With the title coming out on PS Now, fans can experience the iconic fantasy worlds on PS4, PS5, or via streaming on PC.

Square first released Final Fantasy IX back in 2000. Over a decade since, the franchise has grown massively, with several outstanding titles touted for the imaginative storylines and unique battle systems. FF9 in particular takes players back to a medieval style world called Gaia.

Players find themselves a war that Queen Brahne started, with the kingdom of Alexandria invading other nations. In response, neighboring nation Lindblum enlists thief Zidane Tribal to kidnap Alexandria's princess Garnet. Together, the two join other characters as they embark on a quest to take down Queen Brahne and stop the war. Moreover, the journey allows them to uncover past secrets as they hope to find a place they can call home.

FF9‘s debut on PS Now follows the successful release of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered back in September and October, respectively. Afterwards, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will come in December. Finally, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age's release date is set for early January 2022 to round out the five FF titles arriving on the platform.
