The Bruins and Panthers honored Jimmy Hayes, who passed away on Aug. 23, before Saturday night’s game at TD Garden.

Hayes played for both organizations, having spent two years with Florida before being traded to his hometown Bruins in 2015. He played two seasons in Boston as well, part of a seven-year NHL career overall.

Both teams wore dedicated jerseys for warmups, with the Bruins’ reading “Hayesy” on the back, while the Panthers all wore No. 12 “Broadway” jerseys, referencing his nickname from his time there.

Both sets of jerseys are being auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting a charity to be determined by the Hayes family, the Bruins and the Panthers. Fans can bid on the jerseys at www.BruinsAuctions.org or www.FlaPanthers.givesmart.com.

In addition, the Bruins held a moment of silence for Hayes and then played a tribute video, which was met with a loud ovation from the TD Garden crowd. Watch the video and check out some photos of the jerseys below.
