The Harder They Fall cast: Who’s in the new Netflix movie?

Netflix has had many fabulous new releases for 2021, and the year’s not over yet. The streamer still has quite a few new features coming before year’s end, including the western film The Harder They Fall. 

The film is directed by Jeymes Samuel, a.k.a. The Bullitts (They Die by Dawn), who co-wrote the screenplay with Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans). The film is produced by Samuel, Lawrence Bender, Shawn Carter (Jay-Z), and James Lassiter.

Described as a new school western, this film follows the story of Nat Love (Jonathan Majors), a former slave turned cowboy who is out for revenge on the man who murdered his parents, Rufus Buck (Idris Elba).

The Harder They Fall will be available on Netflix on Nov. 3.

Although the film is fictional, the characters are based on actual 19th century American West cowboys, lawmen, and outlaws. Nat Love’s exploits have made him one of the most famous heroes of the Old West. Rufus Buck was the leader of a multi-racial gang whose members were part African American and part Creek Indian. Stagecoach Mary was the first African American woman star route mail carrier in the U.S.

The Harder They Fall trailer

The trailer shows us the Old West with a bit of a modern spin and an amazing soundtrack to accompany this film. It looks like western fans will get lots of shootouts and cowboy gang rivalry, making this a fantastic addition to the Netflix catalog.
