Oswalt (knee) cleared waivers and elected free agency Friday.
Oswalt looked good in a tiny sample of 10.1 major-league innings for the Mets this season, allowing four runs while striking out 10 and walking just two. He hit the injured list with knee inflammation in early July and wound up missing the rest of the year, though he did return for some rehab appearances near the end of the season, which could help him earn what will probably be a minor-league deal over the winter.
