Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores made a major announcement on Friday regarding the team’s quarterback situation.
According to Flores, Tua Tagovailoa will be Miami’s quarterback for the remainder of the season barring an injury.
Flores made it clear that the team is committed to the second-year youngster.
Since rumors about Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson started swirling, Flores has been adamant about the fact that Tagovailoa is Miami’s guy.
It’s always possible that some trade deadline fireworks could occur, but it certainly seems like Flores and Dolphins are planning to give Tagovailoa the remainder of the season to continue developing.
The 23-year-old has looked sharp in recent weeks, throwing for a total of 620 yards and six touchdowns over his last two games. Unfortunately, Miami is still in the midst of a six-game losing streak.
It’ll be interesting to see how Tagovailoa performs the rest of the way.
