This week, Kevin Harvick recalls a moment from the recent feud Chase Elliott which brings laughter
Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick made contact months ago at Bristol Motor Speedway. That led to a famous altercation after the race, bringing the roar of an engaged crowd.
The two drivers had multiple discussions after the Bristol race, including a private conversation inside Elliott’s hauler. Then, a week after Bristol, Harvick hinted that the feud likely wasn’t over.
Harvick said the conversations with Elliott were similar to those with his own child. He also stated that the incident at Bristol was the maddest he’s ever been.
Just a few weeks ago, Harvick retaliated on the infield section of the Charlotte ROVAL. Despite knocking off his rear deck lid, Elliott wasn’r crashed hard enough. The No. 9 team was able to repair the car and rebound in the race, saving their playoff run.
Just as Elliott climbed in the top 15, he was running up on Harvick for the first time since the crash earlier in the race. Harvick could be seen looking intensely in the mirror into turn one.
Both Harvick and Elliott drove it deep into turn one, each locking up the front tires. Harvick locked up much worse, sliding through turn one and into the wall, ending his championship run.
Harvick subtly confirmed the incident was retalliation noting, “Do you remember Bristol?”
After the ROVAL, NASCAR communicated with both drivers. They warned of parking one or both of the drivers if the feud continued.
