In the latest TV show ratings, Fox’s coverage of the World Series Game 2 averaged 8.9 million total viewers (and a 1.8 demo rating), down a bit from the preliminary numbers for the Braves/Astros opener.
Opposite what many have been known to dub “the Fall Classic”:
CBS | Survivor (5 mil/0.8, read recap) slipped yet still led Wednesday’s non-sports fare in the demo, while Tough as Nails (2.8 mil/0.4) was steady. CSI: Vegas (3.3 mil/0.3) stabilized in Week 4 — and took our advice about merging cases!
NBC | Chicagos Med (6.6 mil/0.7) and P.D. (5.5 mil/0.7) were steady, while Fire (6.6 mil/0.7) was down a tenth.
THE CW | Legends of Tomorrow (540K/0.1, TVLine reader grade “A”; read post mortem) added some eyeballs with Episode 100, while Batwoman (400K/0.1) matched its second smallest audience ever.
ABC | The Goldbergs (3.1 mil/0.5), The Wonder Years (2.5 mil/0.4), Home Economics (1.9 mil/0.3) and A Million Little Things (1.9 mil/0.3) were all steady, while The Conners (3.2 mil/0.5) dipped following a one-week break.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Warning: Contents may be hot!
After last night’s episode I expect Survivor to slip even more.
This season is awful.
Agreed. I am cheering for Xander. He has taken a beating for his team and this game and looks like they are looking to take him out.
Yes, I like him too.
I think Survivor producers including Probst have lost the sense of why people love(d) the show. When Jeff went to Exile Island and started his sanctimonious questions/comments, I fast forwarded it. I don’t need a deep lesson about life from a competition/reality show.
Totally agree.
Me too.
Unfortunate, considering Fire truly kicked off the post-Casey era with a great episode.
Honestly, the Chicago Fire would have made a great premise for a three-episode crossover with the 911 system being down for all three episodes.
I was thinking this myself while watching last night. Why wasn’t this a One Chicago cross-over ??? Would have been fantastic.
Have to wonder if that was the plan and covid put a stop to it. I know they seemed to be prepping something months back, based on a bts picture, then the next we heard they weren’t doing a crossover after covid cases in the area increased.
I do remember that now that you mention it. I wonder because it sure looks like a missed opportunity.
I read that the show runners were in talks for a crossover, but it didn’t happen because of Covid protocols. I can’t remember if he was talking about it was last season or these fall episodes. This really could have been a good one. With the 911 issues and how the church case could have been good with PD this really would have been a good crossover.
The World Series always has a dip after the Opener-then comes in strong at the end. Since a 4 game shut out is rare it’ll be interesting to see how many broadcast shows on the other channels that haven’t already scheduled re-runs will pre-empt if next week goes to Tuesday/Wednesday games.
I liked the direction CSI started taking last night. Now we just need a snarky Hodges back in the office.
I love Halloween episodes and Home Economics didn’t disappoint. I hope people are watching on the PVRs. So good.
AND Tough as Nails I think is the best reality competition show on TV. Wish it got nominated for People’s Choice. (Hilarious last night one of the coast guards thought Phil’s name was Jeff. “That’s the other guy”)
It just got a full season pickup this week
CSI LV had it strongest episode last night in my opinion. Why CBS has it airing after tough as nails is a mystery they should try to solve.
Same
For goodness sake, could they please find a decent looking wig for this guest actress (Andy Allo) on Chicago Fire? She always looks like she’s been cursed with a wig from the bargain basement at a thrift shop.
You read my mind about her wig. Either get a better wig or let her just go with her natural hair. How bad could her own hair be? Also, can she be anymore obvious with always hitting on Kelly? Stella better get back to Chicago!
[COMMENT REMOVED DUE TO SYSTEM-DETECTED USE OF MULTIPLE USER NAMES]
Severides partner bothered me “Is Stella out? wanna go for drinks?”. Thought they had boundries at this point. Don’t bring a main character back to season 1 please.
I’m finding a lot of the one chicago main characters acting… out of character as they try to fill story holes. Jay went from badge-thug to self righteous for exactly one episode. Upton would bury a body for Voight back in the day… all of a sudden she’s struggling with it? Reminds me of when antonio went from captain america to pillhead overnight.
Survivor ratings going down?! After last night’s episode, it’s gonna be even worse.
So, is the closed-captioning on Batwoman this season finally in lowercase, or is it still in all-capitals? If not, I need to know who that show’s CC provider is, right now, and I’m not gonna start watching Batwoman until I do.
This episode was rather boring and I don’t like that pain from OFI. I miss Stella but not Casey.
I hope Hank suspends Jay in next weeks episode. He and upstead have become really annoying and make CPD seem more like a soap opera than a police show. There wasn’t any of that crap with LINSTEAD! They kept their personal lives separate from the job!
