Racial Social Media Post Creates Controversy in Midlothian

(WBAP/KLIF) A social media post over the weekend has agitated racial tensions in Midlothian ISD. An unidentified student is heard speaking on the video using the “N-word” and telling blacks to go back to Africa.

Tylan Swiney is a high school student in Midlothian and is hurt and shocked at her classmate’s comments. The incident comes as parent groups are petitioning Midlothian ISD to ban critical race theory from the school district curriculum and remove sexually explicit books from its libraries.

District officials learned about the post on Monday and delivered swift consequences to the student responsible. According to WFAA, the district does not condone this type of behavior.
